Our Journey
We are a multi-cultural, group from all socio-economic backgrounds and all walks of life bonded by our need to protect our children and all children. Founded by a Juris Doctorate with a Masters in Science and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) background we have seen all kinds of court situations.
It is our mission to empower families who are navigating the family court system, provide refuge to those enduring domestic violence of all kinds including coercive control, debt coercion and veritable forms of financial abuse. We provide support for those who are experiencing housing insecurity, transportation issues and we can connect you with other moms in your area so that you can provide peer-to-peer legal resources to each other.

Protective Moms Legislative Intiatives
Housing instability is not a side effect of Domestic Violence--it is one of the most predictable outcomes. Studies show that up to 80% of homeless mothers with children have experienced domestic violence.

Protective Moms, Katherine Moore, with Rep. Sarah Crawford introducing a bill to expedite expungement of evictions incurred as a direct result of domestic violence. Evictions often create a barrier to finding suitable housing for victims fleeing domestic violence. This bill will create a pathway for safe escape to those experiencing abuse.
Since 2024 NC has introduced and passed bills that recognize the economic impact of domestic violence including a debt coercion bill passed in 2025.
Protective Moms is committed to advancing initiatives that place survivors in a position of economic parity so that they can meaningfully and effectively engage in the legal process.
